Carrickfergus Masterplan

Carrickfergus Borough Council is working with the Department for Social Development  and Carrickfergus Chamber of Commerce and Trade through the Carrickfergus Development Company to develop a Masterplan for the traditional town centre of Carrickfergus.  Viewing and consultation on the draft proposals is now taking place in the Museum & Civic Centre, 11 Antrim Street, Carrickfergus.

CarrickfergusTown Hall />

CarrickfergusTown Hall is one of our best-know landmarks in the town and is a Grade B listed building.  Carrickfergus Borough Council invested substantially in keeping the building useable for the whole community.  It currently houses Council meetings and provides space for a myriad of public uses.

Amphitheatre

2009 saw the opening of Amphitheatre, Carrickfergus Borough Council’s refurbished centre for leisure and wellness.  Amphitheatre features state-of-the-art gym equipment, a large soft-play area for children, and a number of halls to house a variety of activities.

Marina

Carrickfergus Marina has recently benefited from a £1.5 million regeneration scheme.  This world-class facility has been awarded the prestigious 5-gold anchor grade, as well as a ‘Blue Flag’ accolade.  Modern pontoons and facilities are available at each of the 321 berths.

Marine Promenade

Carrickfergus’ seafront promenade has recently been refurbished to the highest standards.  New seating and planting provides a welcoming environment, and improved lighting has enhanced perceptions of safety.  This has extended the use of the promenade well past sunset.
