Am I restricted to a certain number of items for collection?
Yes, we will collect no more than 3 items at any one time.

How long does it take to organise a bulky waste collection?
It normally takes between 5 and 10 working days but you will be notified of the waiting time when making the request.

Which items will not be collected as part of a bulky waste collection?
Garden sheds, rubble, fireplaces, complete kitchens, bathrooms, cast iron baths, wood with nails or longer than 4ft, broken glass, double glazed window units, pianos, garage doors.

Who do I contact to get bulky items removed from my premises?

Will bulky items be collected from inside my property?
No, all items must be at the front or side of the house unless there is vehicle access to the back of the property.
Dog Licencing

I am a pensioner, do I get a reduction on my dog licence?
An abatement licence (£2.50) is issued to anyone over the age of 65 years residing on their own.

I do not live in the Borough of Carrickfergus, can I purchase a licence from Carrickfergus Council?
No, you must purchase a licence from the Borough in which you reside.

It is possible to transfer a dog licence from one dog to another?
A licence may be transferred from owner to owner but not dog to dog.

What details do I need when applying for a dog licence?
You will be required to complete and sign an appliction form detailing the owners address and telephone number along with the details of the dog. Name, breed, age, colour etc.

What happens if I do not have a dog licence and the dog warden finds out?
You will be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £200.

You must submit a written request to the Chief Executive, which will then be tabled for approval at a meeting, prior to the meeting you wish to speak at.
